Mahroo Hamedani
Ms. Hamedani received her master's degree in piano performance and pedagogy from Portland State University, after getting her Bachelor of Arts in music with influence in Persian Folk instruments and Piano from University of Tehran. She also attended post-baccalaureate studies at the University of Oregon in music composition and accompaniment.
She has been teaching piano for the last 25 years, in addition to being an active performer and accompanist. Some of her achievements include the winner of the Olsen scholarship for 2 consecutive years at Portland State University - for her level of performance. Prize winner at the 3rd collegiate national piano competition in Iran for her level of musicality and interpretation and a 3rd place win at the collegiate national piano competition in Iran for her performance.
As an active accompanist, she works with choirs and instrumentalists. With Jackson Middle School choir, she has attended choir festivals and national competitions for the last 8 years. They have performed nationally, at places such as Nashville Symphony Concert Hall and Strathmore Music Center in Maryland.
Mahroo is a certified Suzuki teacher, co-chair for the baroque festival, and presentation coordinator at the Tualatin Valley District Oregon Music Teacher Association. She works with students who are interested in studying the OMTA syllabus. Her students think of her as funny and full of energy and enthusiasm.
She dedicated two YouTube channels for all piano lovers, students, and teachers. One of her channels is about learning piano and the other is piano accompaniments for Suzuki method for different instruments. Which is used worldwide by students and teachers. You can find these channels here.
